CATHOLIC - Pope JP-2, Callenged to Public Debates

We have written to each of the Popes of the Vatican 2 church (excluding the 2nd Pope John 23), concerning the changes which have been made to the Traditional Catholic Rite of Mass, which had been reaffirmed (NOT made up) by the Council of Trent (Session 22, Monday, September 17, 1562), as it was before Synod Vatican 2 [Thursday, October 11, 1962 - Wednesday, December 8, 1965]. It was the Roman Catholic Council of Trent which automatically Excommunicated anyone and everyone who would change or abrogate the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass!

Of course, Our letters were ignored by the Excommunicated Popes of the Vatican 2 church who were apparently scared to debate Us in public on the issue of the changes to the Mass?! Either that, or they were afraid of all of the negative publicity such public debates would have on the Vatican 2 church which stood to loose billions of dollars in income if the debates showed the banality of the Vatican 2 church popes and the haughty arrogance of their vicious anti-Catholic behavior!

As a result, We began to publicly challenge the current Pope of the Vatican 2 church, Karol Wyotya [Monday, October 16, 1978 - present], a.k.a. JP-2, to a number of public debates on the subject of the changes to the Mass. We did this on Our one hour weekly television programs. This was before the Internet became what it is today. Since the Internet has now become more widely available and accessed, We published Our PUBLIC LETTER to Pope John-Paul 2.

Why did We do this?

Because of the great harm to souls caused by the NOR (Novus Ordo Rite) of the Vatican 2 church.

Anyone can say anything. On some of the other Web-Pages of Catholic We have not only recounted some of the problems with the NOR, but also presented various proof(s) to substantiate what We say based upon the basic principles, and otherwise consistent teachings, of the Catholic Church for almost 2,000 years.

A few examples include:

Time and again We have proven that the Vatican 2 church is NOT Catholic, especially its NOR (Novus Ordo Rite) - which is only an updated, modernized and otherwise synthesized version of the many different 16th Century Protestant Supper-Meal! We even have photos of 6 PROTESTANTS, each one of whom had ACTIVELY helped to make up the synthesized, modernized and otherwise updated 16th Century Protestant Supper-Memorial-Meal which Pope Paul 6, Giovanni Battista Montini [Friday, June 21, 1963 - Sunday, August 6, 1978] called the Novus Ordo Missae a.k.a. NOR - the Novus Ordo Rite, i.e., the New Rite of Mass.

Many well-meaning and otherwise sincere members of the Vatican 2 church have little, if any, memory of the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass as it was before the NOR, especially if they are in their 40's! Those currently under the age of 44 were born during the days of the Missals of the 2nd Pope John 23, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli [Tuesday, October 28, 1958 - Monday, June 3, 1963], e.g. the First Missal of 2nd John 23, of Monday, July 25, 1960.

It has been Our own personal experience that some people under the age of 44, namely those who are truly humble and who are really lovers of the truth, have been more willing to prayerfully read what We have written on the subject of the changes to the Mass. The same is true of this age category concerning Our television programs. This even holds true during personal conversations at which time they have an opportunity to ask Us their questions of concern.

But this is in contradistinction to their counter-parts who somehow feel (being unable to prove their confused position) very fearful that We are somehow "wrong" in what We say, whether verbally or in writing, concerning the changes in the Mass. This even holds true concerning what We tell them about Our own personal experiences in connection with what some people call the "Old" Mass in Latin (the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass), and how We have tried to warn and educate people about the horrible evils of the NOR.

What this latter group of people does NOT understand is that when they try to condemn Us, based solely upon their fearful feelings or upon the campaign of deliberate dis-information by the Vatican 2 church, they automatically thereby also condemn their Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, other relatives, etc. who assisted at the "Old" Mass in Latin many decades before their own parents were even born!

In Anglo-Saxon English this simply means that IF We are wrong "today", then all of the Prelates and Priests who offered the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass for their Parent, and especially for their Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, and other relatives, etc. were wrong "yesterday"!

Such an illogical and contradictory position would have been anathema to the Prelates and Priests who offered the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass, not only for their own Parents, but especially years before that for their Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, and other relatives, etc.

Are such poor souls so badly brainwashed that they are unable to think for themselves?

Consider how We have presented Photographic Evidence which shows how the present Pope of the Vatican 2 church, Pope JP-2 (this is how he likes to call himself), a.k.a. Pope John-Paul 2, Karol Wyotya [Monday, October 16, 1978 - present] was publicly exorcized by several Pagan Aztec Priestesses with their PAGAN AZTEC rite of exorcism in that monstrosity of Modernism, the MESS HALL where the Miraculous Picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe has been hung.

Also, please understand that We have presented Photographic Evidence which shows popes of the Vatican 2 church doing things which are an abomination to God, and an insult to the intelligence of all lovers of the truth. These are things which are forbidden to Catholics! Some would posit that this alone proves the Vatican 2 church popes are not Catholics!

Such poor, misguided, Vatican 2 church VICTIMIZED souls need to pray to the good God for the Grace of Conversion to the Catholic Church. The irony is that such souls do NOT understand that the Vatican 2 church is NOT the Catholic Church! We have explained this subject as well as given Our proofs for this statement, especially in What is The "Vatican 2" church?

Now there are many other things We have written and said over the years. But the above are some examples of what We have written. We are NOT AFRAID to put into writing Our position on these things while, too often it seems, the poor, misguided, Vatican 2 church VICTIMIZED souls do lots of talking and beating the air with their verbal attacks against Us, and yet produce no solid proofs to disprove what We have written to the world-wide audience. Such actions by such Vatican 2 church VICTIMIZED souls are unfair and unjust against the Truths We speak.

Some may be wont to take the position that Synod Vatican 2 changed nothing! Besides being irrational, rash, and an example of grossest ignorance, such a position is not true!

Here are two examples of how Synod Vatican 2 has been characterized:

1) A sinister farce acted out by three thousand good-for-nothings, some of whom, despite the gold [pectoral] crosses on their chests, don’t even believe in the Trinity or the Virgin. (Bishop Antonio Romeo of the Sacred Congregation of Rites in Bob Considine’s column ON THE LINE in the NEW YORK JOURNAL AMERICAN of Friday, November 27, 1964).

2) The greatest disaster in recent ecclesiastical history. (Cardinal Siri, Archbishop of Genoa; from PONTIFF, p. 369 - Gordon Thomas/Max Morgan Witts).

Synod Vatican 2 permitted, by praxis, in practice, experimentation in the Liturgy for the Mass and the Sacraments. This has resulted in a series of additional abominations of the Vatican 2 church "mass", a.k.a. NOR (Novus Ordo Rite), which is an abomination in and of itself, such as:

a) The Circus NOR;
b) The Polka NOR;
c) The Go-Go NOR;
d) The Clown NOR;
e) The Puppet NOR;
f) The Doggie NOR;
g) The Nun NOR;
h) The Anything Goes NOR;
i) The Make Up Your Own NOR;
j) The NUDE NOR;
k) The PAGAN Aztec NOR;
l) The PAGAN Hindu Tilak NOR;
m) The PAGAN Voodoo NOR;
n) The PORNO NOR;
etc., etc., etc.!

Sundry Objections

I) Let it not be objected that We are mean, crass and/or cruel because We are trying to take advantage of the Pope who turned 84 years of age on Tuesday, May 18, 2004!

Why not?!

1) Because We first wrote to him just after he became the 4th Pope of the Vatican 2 church on Monday, October 16, 1978. Because he was born on Tuesday, May 18, 1920, this means that on Monday, October 16, 1978 he was only 58 years and 2 days short of being 5 months old at that time!

2) Because We gave him the option of picking one American Cardinal whose native language is English to take his place in said debates.

II) Beginning in either very late 1978 or very early 1979, when We first began REPORTING the public Mortal Sins which the 4th Pope of the Vatican 2 church, Karol Wyotya [Monday, October 16, 1978 - present], a.k.a. JP-2, was publicly committing, some misguided souls, who are members of the Vatican 2 church, took scandal, not at the real scandal, namely the public Mortal Sins committed by the 4th Pope of the Vatican 2 church, Karol Wyotya [Monday, October 16, 1978 - present], a.k.a. JP-2, but by Our REPORTING them!

This skewered nonsense is Vatican vomit Psychobabble!

Therefore, let it not be objected that We are causing scandal by bringing up the public Mortal Sins which the 4th Pope of the Vatican 2 church, Karol Wyotya [Monday, October 16, 1978 - present], a.k.a. JP-2, has committed.

On the contrary, We have NOT committed these public Mortal Sins. Rather, Pope JP-2 is the one who has publicly committed these Mortal Sins! This is nothing less than vomited Vatican 2 church Psychobabble which condemns Us and tries to make its Zombiezied Victims "think" that We are guilty of causing scandal, despite the Truth that the person who has publicly committed these Mortal Sins, namely Pope JP-2, is the one who is the source of and who has caused the scandal! Anyone who would claim that We are causing scandal is either bereft of the basic principles of Scholastic Philosophy, especially in Logic, or is the VICTIM of Vatican vomit!

On the contrary, it is a FALLACY to claim that We have caused scandal and that Pope JP-2 has NOT caused any scandal by his public Mortal Sins!

III) Again, beginning many years ago, some people began, not to attack Us, but rather to attack Our sources which prove what We say. A number of reasons, or more correctly, excuses, were posited for such action on their part.

On the contrary, such as these either do not know, or do not care to apply, the principles of the Angelic Doctor who writes in part:

Do not heed by whom a thing is said, but rather what is said. (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., [b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D., in Fossa Nuova, Italy], Doctor of the Church, LETTER TO BROTHER JOHN.)

In commenting on such advice of Saint Thomas Aquinas, one Dominican has written: “The beginner is sorely tempted to be more impressed by the prestige and personality of the teacher or the writer than by the truth of what he teaches or writes; it is very much less trouble, but IT IS FATAL TO KNOWLEDGE, TO LEARNING, TO REAL WISDOM-FOR THIS IS CONCERNED WITH THE TRUTH THAT IS UTTERED, NEVER WITH THE PERSONALITY OF THE HUMAN VEHICLE. This principle St. Thomas himself carried to limitless lengths; STATEMENTS or arguments MUST BE ACCEPTED OR REJECTED ON THEIR OWN MERITS, NEVER ON THE MERITS OF THE HUMAN SPOKESMAN, BE HE CATHOLIC, INFIDEL, TURK OR JEW.” (Rev. Victor White, O.P., HOW TO STUDY, Blackfriars, London, 1951; emphasis added.)

IV) Historically, one reads in the Acts of the Apostles how the Apostles were persecuted by the Jews and by the Romans, sometimes through the instigation of the Jews. But so also were other early Catholics persecuted. Their heroic lives and the martyrdoms of many are recorded in what are called Martyrologies.

One example of a persecuted Bishop who tried to teach the Truth is recorded therein. He is called the "Father of Orthodoxy" because he defended the Dogma that Jesus Christ is God against the Arian heresy of the Priest of the Diocese of Alexandria, Egypt, Father Arius, a Jew, who denied the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

"At Alexandria, the birthday of St. Athanasius, Bishop of that city, Confessor and Doctor of the Church, most celebrated for sanctity and learning. Although almost all of the world had formed a conspiracy to persecute him, he courageously defended the Catholic Faith, from the reign of Constantine to that of Valens, against emperors, governors, and a multitude of Arian bishops, whose underhanded attacks forced him to wander as an exile over the whole earth without finding a place of security. At length, however, he was restored to his church, and after overcoming many trials, and winning many crowns by his patience, he departed for Heaven in the forty-sixth year of his Priesthood, in the time of the emperors Valentinian and Valens" (The Roman Martyrology, The Second Day of May).

For many, many years, because of the persecution of the Arian heretics, Patriarch Saint Athanasius of Alexandria, Egypt, as well as his tiny, but faithful, group of followers, had not even one Church building for Mass and the Sacraments.

Consider how many times Bishop Saint Athanasius was taunted with the contemptuous questions:

"Where are your Church buildings??!!"
And, "Where is your Cathedral???!!!"

Here are some excerpts from a Letter this Saintly Bishop wrote to his tiny faithful flock:

“May God console you! ... What saddens you ... is the fact that others have occupied the Churches by violence, while during this time you are on the outside. It is a fact that they have the premises -- but you have the Apostolic Faith.
They[the heretics and apostates]can occupy our churches, but they are outside the True Faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the Faith dwells within you.
Let us consider: what is more important, the place or the Faith? The True Faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in this struggle -- the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the Faith?
True, the premises are good when the Apostolic Faith is preached there; they are Holy if everything takes place there in a Holy way ...
You are the ones who are happy; you who remain within the [Catholic] Church by your Faith, who hold firmly to the foundations of the Faith which has come down to you from Apostolic Tradition, and if an execrable jealously has tried to shake it in a number of occasions, it has not succeeded. They are the ones who have broken away from it in the present crisis.
No one, ever, will prevail against your Faith, beloved brothers, and We believe that God will give us our Churches back some day.
Thus, the more violently they try to occupy the places of worship, the more they separate themselves from the [Catholic] Church.
They claim that they represent the Church but in reality they are the ones who are expelling themselves from it and going astray.
Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the True Church of Jesus Christ." (Saint Athanasius [b. Alexandria, Egypt 296 A.D.-d. Alexandria, Egypt 373A.D.], Patriarch of Alexandria, Egypt, Father of Orthodoxy in the Catholic Church, Coll. Selecta SS. Eccl. Patrum. Caillu and Guillou, Volume 32, pp 411-412).

Today, history repeats itself, because the heretics, apostates and schismatics of the Vatican 2 church have kept Us and Our followers out of the Church buildings, which were once Catholic, but we are Catholics faithful to Tradition and are the ones who are the True Church of Jesus Christ, the Mystical Body of Christ, which is not limited to only a physical building, but is wherever Christ is, as it is written:

“Wherever the Bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church” (Saint Ignatius of Antioch [b. Syria c. 50 A.D. - d. Rome 107 A.D.], Patriarch of Antioch, Epistle to the Smyraeans, Chapter VIII, Let Nothing Be Done Without the Bishop.)

This explains why, during the first three Centuries, the Catholic Church existed primarily in the Catacombs.

Shortly before, and especially after, the period of the Catacombs, the Domus Ecclesiae - House Church - the private homes of Bishops were the first church buildings.

Many of Our contemporaries simply do not know the History of the Catholic Church.

Apparently some of them think that Jesus Christ established Church BUILDINGS, not the MYSTICAL Body of Christ which is the Catholic Church?!

Apparently some of them think that somehow, maybe by MAGIC, wherever the Apostles went, there were already Church BUILDINGS sitting there just waiting for them to walk into and begin offering Mass, Preaching and administering the Sacraments?!

Apparently some of Our contemporaries think that somehow, maybe by MAGIC, wherever the Students of the Apostles went, (the Apostolic Fathers as Ecclesiastical History calls them) whom the Apostles had Ordained Priests and/or Consecrated Bishops, these Disciples of the Apostles just had to say abra-cadabra and poof! a Church BUILDING would appear!

Today, We offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and administer the Sacraments in Catacombs III.

But this mentality that some of Our Contemporaries have that they expect Us to somehow work a miracle to provide a Church BUILDING for them to come to Mass and to receive the Sacraments is IRRATIONAL and betrays a total ignorance of how the Catholic Church survived the first three Centuries of its existence in Catacombs I.

So, this explains why We, too, now in Catacombs III, are taunted with the contemptous questions:

"Where are your Church buildings??!!"
And, "Where is your Cathedral???!!!"

This betrays a total lack of Faith by the question-askers and exposes them as being materialistic, worldly people whose priorities are bereft of Spiritual Values!

On the contrary, should We make the words of Patriarch Saint Athanasius Our own: "We believe that God will give us our Churches back some day."?!

V) Among other objections, We conclude with this one.

Remember how Jesus Christ gave the Church He instituted, through His Apostles and their Episcopal Successors, the mission to go forth to convert the entire world:

18   And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.
19   Going therefore, teach ye all nations; Baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
20   Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world. (Matthew 28:18-20).

The Apostles of Jesus Christ obeyed this command of Christ to them. So have their successors, the Bishops of the Catholic Church. While all Catholics might agree with this, they do not all understand it correctly.

Today, among the wreckage, spiritual carnage, and disaster called the Vatican 2 church, We, who are a Prelate of the Catholic Church, must fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Our Office of Overseer (Episcopus).

The Bishop is the OFFICIAL Teacher of the Catholic Church - not Priests (who received this only by way of delegation), and most certainly not the Laity.

Therefore, as an OFFICIAL TEACHER of the Catholic Church, part of Our duties and responsibilities to Almighty God, and for which We must render a strict account on the Day of Judgment, is to TEACH - TEACH THE TRUTH!

But, shortly after Synod Vatican 2 ended and the monster it created took its place - the Vatican 2 church, by the Most Holy Will and Grace of God We have tried to teach God's Holy Truths to the people, including the members of the heretical, apostate and schismatic Vatican 2 church!

Over the years, some people have become angry with Us for doing Our job because it was causing problems within families. Whether it was a Spouse, a Child, a Parent, a Relative, or a Friend, some of the Truths We teach began to get through. This led to some distress, to asking questions, to lack of correct or complete answers to questions, etc., etc.

But this is the commission Christ gave to His Apostles - to convert the world!! Because the family is the hub of society, it is only natural that certain family members would be drawn, by the Grace of God and the Grace of Conversion, to the True Faith of the Catholic Church.

But this is the COMMAND of Christ to Us: Going therefore, teach ye all nations... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.

Some object to this saying that We should bring peace and love and harmony into families. On the contrary, Christ did NOT command Us to do such things. Christ commanded Us to TEACH the Truth!

Christ did NOT come to bring peace upon the earth, but the sword!

32   Every one therefore that shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before my Father Who is in Heaven.
33   But he that shall deny Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father Who is in Heaven.
34   Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword.
35   For I came to set a man at variance against his Father, and the Daughter against her Mother, and the Daughter in law against her Mother in law.
36   And as a man's enemies shall be they of his own household.
37   He that loveth father or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me; and he that loveth Son or Daughter more than me, is not worthy of Me.

Without virtuous works, void of self and of sin, prompted by belief in the Truths of God, there can be no True peace.

Therefore, those who would peripatetically eschew this conundrum fail to understand the Mysteries of God and the Mission of the Catholic Church to teach ye all nations... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.

Sad to say, not everyone wants to know the Truth! Thus the reason why some people reject Our Teachings or, what is also frequently the case, they are in GREAT FEAR that We are correct and that they are in grave error, but desire not to admit it through pride, whereas humility is not only the basis for all of the Virtues, both the Theological and the Moral, but also the sine qua non for the Truth!

There are many legions of mankind - men and women - who do not love the Truth and who are thus condemned (2 Thessalonians 2:10-11) to believe the lies of the Vatican vomited Psychobabble about the changes the Vatican 2 church has made to the ancient Catholic Rites for the Mass and the Sacraments, not to mention the Catholic Faith, etc., etc.!

We say to them: Your family member(s) have a right, a duty and an obligation to hear God's Holy Truths to which they are drawn by the Grace of God!

WHY do you want to keep them in bondage and slavery in the Vatican 2 church which is an ANTI-CATHOLIC "church"??!!

IF you proffer some specious, Sophist argument, e.g. that We are not a validly Ordained Priest and/or a validly Consecrated Bishop, etc., or interfere in any way and prevent them from hearing Us, or IF you condemn Us, then remember this - on the Day of Judgement YOU WILL render a strict account to the Just Judge, Jesus Christ!

Oh, and one more thing, IF you are so naive as to accept the PAGAN heresy of Secular Humanism espoused by the Vatican 2 church that God is NOT in the punishment business!, and you act in accordance to its logical conclusion, namely the axiom of the PAGAN Religion of SECULAR HUMANISM - If it feels good, do it! - then guess WHERE YOU will spend YOUR ETERNITY!!!

We hope that this background data will help you to better understand Our reasons for renewing Our challenge to JP-2, the 4th Pope of the Vatican 2 church, to a series of public debates on the subject of the changes to the "Old" Latin Mass, a.k.a. the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Mass.

The Episcopal Office includes not just the Teaching Office, but also everything else which pertains to the Pastoral Office. Besides the Teaching Office, the Pastoral Office also includes, but is not limited to, the Office of Ecclesiastical Judge, the Preaching Office and the Office of Discipline.

Thus, when receiving the Crozier, the newly consecrated Bishop hears these words of his Consecrator: Receive the staff of the Pastoral Office, so that in the correction of vices you may be lovingly severe, giving judgment without wrath, softening the minds of your hearers whilst fostering virtues, not neglecting strictness of discipline through love of tranquillity (PONTIFICALE ROMANUM).

To be faithful to the exercise of Our Ecclesiastical Episcopal Offices of Teacher, Preacher, Judge and Pastor, what are We supposed to do when We witness with Our own eyes and ears, whether in person, or through the media, whether print, radio and/or television media, not to mention the Internet, a never-ending attack by the Vatican 2 church (lex orandi, lex credendi), whether through you, personally, as its leader, or indirectly through your bureaucracy, your heretical clergy, and/or your pedophile clergy, and/or your Satanist clergy upon the Sacred Catholic Traditional liturgical Rites for offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Seven Sacraments, the ontological essence of which was perfectly instituted by the Eternal High Priest, Jesus Christ Himself, the proper interpretation of Sacred Scripture, the Authentic Apostolic Tradition, not to mention the victimization of your own Laity through subtle heresies which action slowly disintegrates the last vestiges deep within them of whatever little remains of their Faith of the Catholic Church?!

YOU should be ashamed of yourself, John-Paul 2, who are the 4th Pope of the heretical, apostate and schismatic Vatican 2 church!

"God is NOT in the punishment business!"

YOU are also ultimately responsible for the heresy, so widespread, in the Vatican 2 church that "God is NOT in the punishment business!"

Standing to Receive the NON-Transubstantiated Bread and Wine

YOU are likewise ultimately responsible for the enforcement, in the NOR, of the BLACK RUBRIC of the First Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, first published in his Second Prayer Book of Edward VI in 1552, which no longer contained Transubstantiation and therefore logically forbade kneeling to receive the NON-Transubstantiated bread and wine.

This is exampled in the action taken by the
Vatican 2 church Bishops of the American Vatican 2 church:

“The bishops of the United States have decided that the normative posture for receiving Holy Communion should be standing. Kneeling is NOT a licit [lawful] posture for receiving Holy Communion in the dioceses of the United States of America unless the bishop of a particular diocese has derogated from this norm in an individual and extraordinary circumstance” (Official Newsletter of the United States Bishops’ Committee on the Liturgy, July, 2002).

This action PROVES that the Vatican 2 church Bishops of the American Vatican 2 church DO NOT BELIEVE that the Bread and Wine are Transubstantiated during the updated, modernized and otherwise syntehsized 16th Century Protestant NOR Supper Memorial Meal, despite their attempts to deny this!

To claim that this is the way it is done in the Eastern Rites is ABSURD! Since when has the NOR become an Eastern Rite?

But, as if your breaking of THE PROFESSION OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH is not enough, there is also the matter of your also breaking of the other Public and Solemn Oath you took in accordance with the laws of the Roman Catholic Church which is called The Oath Against Modernism.

THE OATH AGAINST MODERNISM

“I [state your name], firmly accept and embrace each and every doctrine defined by the Church’s unerring teaching authority and all that she has maintained and declared, especially those points of doctrine which are directly opposed to the errors of our time.

Romans 1:20), that is, from the visible works of creation, as a cause is known from its effects, and that, therefore, His existence can also be demonstrated.

Fifthly, I hold with certainty and sincerely profess that faith is not a blind religious sentiment evolving from the hidden recesses of subliminal consciousness, and morally formed by the influence of heart and the motion of the will, but that it is a real assent of the intellect to objective truth learned by hearing, an assent wherein we believe to be true whatever has been spoken, testified and revealed by the personal God, our Creator and Lord, on the authority of God, Who is the perfection of Truth.

Furthermore, in all due reverence, I submit to and fully uphold all of the condemnations, declarations and the prescripts contained in the encyclical letter PASCENDI and in the decree LAMENTABILI, especially those concerning what is called the history of dogmas. I also reject the error of those who say that the faith held by the Church may conflict with history, and that Catholic dogmas, in the sense in which they are now understood, cannot be reconciled with the actual origins of the Christian religion.

I also condemn and reject the opinion of those who say that a well-educated Christian assumes a dual personality, one as a believer and another as an historian, thus making it permissible for the historian to maintain what his faith as a believer contradicts, or to lay down premises from which there follows the falsity or the uncertainty of dogmas, provided only that these are not directly denied.

I likewise reject that method of determining and interpreting Sacred Scripture which, departing from the tradition of the Church and the analogy of faith and the norms of the Holy See, adopts the principles of the Rationalists, and with equal arbitrariness and rashness regards textual criticism as the sole supreme norm.

Furthermore, I reject the opinion of those who hold that a teacher of the science of historical theology or a writer on the subject must first put aside any preconceived notions about the supernatural origin of Catholic tradition or about the Divine help promised for the continual preservation of each revealed truth; or that the writings of individual Fathers must be interpreted solely by the data of science without any reference to sacred authority, and with the same liberty of judgment which is common in the investigation of all ordinary historical documents.

And this is not to be understood that we may hold what seems better suited to the culture of a particular age, but rather that we may never believe nor understand anything other than the absolute and unchangeable truth preached from the beginning by the Apostles.
